Cookie Policy

Last updated: 8 September 2026.

This policy explains what cookies are, which cookies this website (sc-brokers.com) uses, why we use them and how you control them. It is issued by SC Business Broker UK Ltd (Company No. 17347398), Level 5, Chiswick Business Park, 566 Chiswick High Rd, Building 7, London W4 5YG (the "site operator"). For how we handle personal data more generally, see our Privacy Policy.

1. The rules we follow

For visitors from the United Kingdom, cookies are governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR), regulation 6, and the UK GDPR. For visitors from the European Union, the equivalent rules are Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive 2002/58/EC as implemented in each member state, and the GDPR.

Both regimes work the same way. We may store or read information on your device without asking only when it is strictly necessary to provide a service you have requested. For everything else, including analytics and advertising, we need your consent first. Consent must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous, refusing must be as easy as accepting, and you can withdraw it at any time.

2. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files that a website places on your computer or phone. They let the site remember things between pages and visits, for example that you have already seen the cookie banner, or a form you are in the middle of filling in. Similar technologies such as local storage and pixels are covered by this policy in the same way.

3. How we ask for your consent

On your first visit a banner appears with three equal options: Accept all, Reject non-essential and Manage settings. Until you choose, the site sets only strictly necessary cookies. Optional cookies are switched off by default. If you close the banner without choosing, nothing optional is set and the banner appears again on your next visit.

Your choice is stored in the sc_consent cookie for 180 days. After that we ask again. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link in the footer of every page. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it and does not affect the lawfulness of anything done while your consent was in place.

Analytics (only with your consent)

With your permission we use Google Analytics 4 to see which pages are visited, from which countries and devices, and how people move through the catalogue. IP addresses are anonymised and the data is not used for advertising. If analytics is switched off in the banner, none of these cookies are set. Google then receives only cookieless signals, such as the page viewed and the time of the visit, which cannot identify you or connect your visits; Google uses them for aggregated statistics. If you allow analytics and later withdraw consent, the cookies below are deleted from this domain.

Marketing (only with your consent)

We do not currently set any marketing or advertising cookies. If we add advertising measurement in the future, this section will list the cookies and the banner will ask for your consent before any of them is set.

5. Google Consent Mode

The site uses Google Consent Mode v2. On every page the consent signals for analytics and advertising storage are set to "denied" before any Google script can run. The Google tag loads in this state and sets no cookies until you allow them. They change to "granted" only for the categories you allow. This is how the site makes sure Google tools respect your choice.

6. Third-party content

Some pages may embed content hosted by other companies, for example a video. Where we do this we use privacy-friendly embeds that do not set cookies until you start the content. Once you interact with embedded content, the provider's own cookie and privacy policies apply.

7. International transfers

Google may process analytics data on servers outside the United Kingdom and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Such transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses and Google's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

8. Controlling cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you see which cookies are stored, delete them and block them for individual sites. If you block strictly necessary cookies, the enquiry and valuation forms may not work.

9. Your rights

Where cookies involve personal data, you have the rights set out in the UK GDPR and the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure and objection. To exercise them, write to office@sc-brokers.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) in the United Kingdom or to the supervisory authority in your EU member state.

10. Changes to this policy

We update this page whenever the cookies the site uses change. The date at the top shows the current version. If we add a new category of optional cookies, the banner will ask for your consent again.
